The Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiative
Who is Fairtrade?
In 2005 Du Toitskloof Wines became one of the first wineries in South Africa to join the Fairtrade Initiative. Fairtrade is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation, working towards improving the well-being of rural communities. Fairtrade supports producers and their employees by offering opportunities for social, economical and environmental development.
Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiative
By joining the Fairtrade initiative, Du Toitskloof Wines is acknowledging the social and economic impact a company can have on its community. For this company, it is not only about the destination, but about the impact they make on the world, during their journey.
The Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiave can be divided into three categories:
Community Development
Various projects, within these categories, have been initiated. The Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiative has also contributed financially towards educational facilities and opportunities. This initiative is an ongoing process, actively working towards finding solutions and new ways to bridge the gap in our rural communities.
